Chaise Longue / September 15, 2018 / Jillian Morris
Originally, the frames for the very first chaise lounge chairs used in drawing rooms was made from wood. Variations on the indoor chairs also brought about a mobile chaise lounge made from metal used by the French army. This seat was portable and could be folded and unfolded. Today, most indoor chaise lounge frames are still made from wood, some of which is ornately carved. While there also exist chaise loungers with metal frames, they are not nearly as portable or foldable as were their predecessors. For indoor use, it is assumed that the chair will not be moved around very often, so weight and ease of movement are not of chief priority.
Woodworking Plans: Chaise lounge chair plans are vital as they will draw out the plans and provide step-by-step instructions for your project. This helps to cut down on mistakes and removes the possibility for frustration caused by these mistakes. Built by professional woodworkers, any and all issues that have been encountered have been remedied. Patterns, material lists as well as amounts of material needed will be included in the plan, as well as diagrams to help you detail your project. The decisions that will be left up to you will include exact dimensions since different plans will not have the same dimensions, as well as material such as wood type. Things to keep in mind and consider during this step include how much space you have for the chair, where the chair will be used, and what designs will compliment the chair.
